This Model Is Changing How the Beauty Industry Sees Bald Women

We’ve partnered with Lancôme to show you that confidence and beauty are one in the same.

When Nigerian native Folasade Adeoso moved to New York City to pursue modeling, she struggled to stand out. It wasn’t until she realized that her efforts to fit in were exactly the things holding her back at age 22 that she decided to shed the long, straight weave that made her feel like a fake version of herself. Instead, she embraced her natural beauty — by shaving her head. This decision catapulted her career and gave her an entirely new beauty philosophy to live by. Learn more about how her bald look paired with certain feature-defining beauty products helps her feel empowered in the video above.

Love this video. It so nice to see unique women that are creating their own definitions of beauty. I went natural years ago and felt such a freedom. A year ago I lost all my hair to Chemo and had to find new ways to feel beautiful. For the first time in my life I really wore make – up daily , and it was so fun.
